Network 2000 Event Highlights Need for More Women on Boards March 17, 2009 Dr. Ellen H. Yankellow, Pharm D., President and CEO of Correct Rx Pharmacy
Services, Inc., will join a panel of esteemed business women in a discussion about women on corporate boards at Roadmap to the Boardroom: Views from the Inside on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the Radisson Hotel at Cross Keys.
Network 2000 Inc., a women's business and professional organization,
and the Greater Baltimore Committee are sponsors of the event. Dr. Yankellow, a member of two corporate boards, and other women panelists will discuss their own experiences and perspective about what it's like to serve on a paid board of directors, how they got there, and what is needed to be successful.
“Research shows that women are more than half of the workforce,
make the majority of consumer decisions and open businesses at twice the rate of men,” says Dr. Yankellow. “It is just good business for corporate boards to reflect the interests of women.”
Dr. Yankellow has grown Correct Rx-one of Baltimore's largest female-owned businesses and a national leader in institutional pharmacy services-into one of the leading institutional pharmacies nationwide.
Correct Rx's model of patient centered pharmacy, superior service and advanced technology is combined with a culture of caring and accuracy that has proven to be a formula for success. Her phenomenal business success is equally matched by her commitment to and passion for community activism and
philanthropy.
Dr. Yankellow serves on the boards of numerous nonprofit organizations including Network 2000, Inc., The Catholic High School of Baltimore, Charlestown Retirement Home, Girl Scouts of Central
Maryland, the Baltimore City Foundation, Inc., as well as the corporate boards of J.J. Haines & Company, Inc. and AAA MidAtlantic and MD Regional. Click here to view document
